Mexico: Montecristo De Guerrero, Finca Miravalle, Rodulfo Santizo, Natural - Filter Roast
Nestled high in the Sierra Madre mountains of Chiapas, Mexico, Finca Miravalle is a five-hectare family farm surrounded by the rich biodiversity and unique microclimates of the Chiapas Biosphere Reserve. These high-altitude conditions provide the perfect environment for producing exceptional specialty coffee.
The farm is owned and operated by Rodulfo Santizo Morales, who first learned coffee cultivation from his family as a young boy in Montecristo de Guerrero. After purchasing the property in 1983 with just 0.5 hectares, Rodulfo gradually expanded Finca Miravalle to its current five hectares, continually refining his farming practices and focusing on quality-driven production.
Today, the farm remains a true family enterprise, with Rodulfo's children involved in both cultivation and post-harvest processes. Coffee has provided not only a livelihood for the family but also opportunities for education and growth, with a shared commitment to improving the quality and sustainability of their coffees for future generations.
The family carefully produces both washed and natural coffees, with every harvest thoughtfully processed to highlight the character of the farm and its remarkable terroir. Harvest takes place between January and March, followed by meticulous post-harvest processing by Rodulfo and his family.
In the cup, expect a silky, smooth profile with notes of ripe citrus, goji berries, and raspberry sweetness, finishing with a rich, winey and boozy complexity.
